Authentication apps serve a simple purpose — they generate a numeric code used to verify your login. This code is shown in the app separately for each secured service or account.
To secure your Seznam Account with an authentication app, you first need to install such an app on your mobile phone — just like you would install any other app. You can choose from a wide range of options, many of which are available for free. Popular choices include apps like Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator. It’s also possible to use a desktop version or browser extension.
To enable two-factor authentication using an authentication app, follow the steps described on the Enable Two-Factor Authentication page of your Seznam account.
Once you reach the step where you need to scan a code with the authentication app, choose the option to “Add a new account” — this usually appears as a plus icon within the app or as an option labeled “Add account” or similar.
The app will then offer you the choice to scan a QR code or enter a code manually. If you can scan the code with your phone, select the QR scanning option and use your phone to scan the QR code shown in your Seznam account.
If you’re unable to scan the code, copy or manually type the alphanumeric key displayed next to the QR code (a 32-character combination of numbers and letters) and paste it into the appropriate field in your app — often labeled “key,” “secret key,” or similar. You will also need to name the account — we recommend choosing a name that clearly identifies what account it’s for (e.g., Seznam.cz or vesely.uzivatel@seznam.cz).
Once you confirm the entered key and account name (either manually or by scanning the QR code), the app will begin displaying a six-digit verification code. In your Seznam account, click the “Scanned, continue” button and enter the six-digit code into the field provided.
This code changes every 30 seconds, so always enter the code that is currently displayed.
The authentication app will now show your newly added Seznam Account, and you’ll find a new six-digit login verification code every time you sign in.
