Mapy.com for Everyone
Our services can also be used by people with disabilities or the visually impaired. We have created tactile maps specifically for them, which can be navigated by touch. The maps were helpful during the coronavirus pandemic and ease the work of integrated rescue system units every day.
Seznam has been offering tactile maps in collaboration with the ELSA centers at Prague’s ČVUT and Teiresiás at Masaryk University since 2014. These special map resources are available worldwide in small, medium, or large scales. If you need a tactile map, we will gladly print and send it to you for free.
How to Get a Tactile Map?
Wheelchair Routes
We display wheelchair routes with color markings on the tourist map. You can find them on your computer, in the mobile app, and in offline maps.
Mapy.com for Integrated Rescue System Units
We proudly provide our map resources free of charge to IZS units so they can use them in their internal systems for air rescue services, police, and firefighters. Thanks to the detailed map processing, they don’t have to search for the intervention site and can devote more time to saving lives.
All Together Against Coronavirus
Shortly after the start of the coronavirus pandemic in spring 2020, we released an update to the Mapy.com mobile app for Android and iOS, which allowed users to share their location and subsequently could notify them of an increased risk of COVID-19 infection based on their location history. A new website was also created, allowing reports if a person tested positive for coronavirus. More than a million users activated the feature.
